#RUNWAY/FASHION: THABO MAKHETHA SHOWCASE, MABONENG PRECINCT

I got the opportunity to be a shoot assistant to Joburg photographer Justin McGee and to also shoot the behind-the-scenes footage for Thabo Makhetha's new range of high fashion afro contemporary designs.
This range consisted of her coat, jacket, cape designs, made out of the traditional Basotho blankets, which has become her signature.
The urban woman still remaining in touch with her African ethnicity was the driven concept of the shoot.
Maboneng Precinct played along with us as it buzzed with the energy that we tried to capture.
The beauty of the inner city & its art frozen in the walled graffiti, wondering kids, skilfully-placed photobombers and the copious rays of Joburg Sunday sunshine,
was our canvas.
On board was my sister Nokubonga as the shoot's stylist, Nomsa the make-up artist, Ole our model and Lebo our location strong-man (lol).
A lot of hard work goes into a location shoot, and I under-estimated that fact.
But an amazing experience with such fun people.
Blessed!
